Quick Start

Get from zero to your first generated image in 5 minutes.

1. Sign Up​

Visit app.variantlab.ai and create an account. New accounts receive bonus Mana credits to get started.

2. Create a Project​

  1. Click the + button in the left sidebar
  2. Enter a project name (e.g., "robot-avatars")
  3. Click Create

3. Write Your Prompt​

In the right panel, enter a description of the image you want to generate:

and antenna on top, digital art style, centered, neutral background
Prompt Tips
  • Be specific about style, colors, and composition
  • Mention "centered", "facing left", and "neutral background" for example
  • Use "distinct lines", or "distinct features" for easier masking
  • Keep subjects simple for your first project

4. Generate Your Image​

  1. Select an AI model:
    • Gemini 2.5 Flash - Fast, good for iteration
    • Gemini 3 Pro - Higher quality, supports 1K, 2K, and 4K image generation
  2. Choose an aspect ratio (1:1 is recommended)
  3. Click Generate

Your image will appear in the canvas. You can generate up to 5 base images per project.

5. Next Steps​

You now have a base image. Continue with:

Mana Cost

Image generation costs Mana credits. Depending on the model, each generation costs between ~1.5 Mana and ~4 Mana per image. Check your balance in the top-right corner.
